Unit 7 – Individual Project

Currently, organizations have employees and stakeholders who are from all four of the working generations: Gen Y (Millennials), Gen X, Baby Boomers, and Silents. For some insight into these four generations, read this article.
To learn more about the stages of group development, see the Unit 6 Reading Assignment, specifically Chapter 9. One of the most well-known models of stage development is Tuckman’s forming, storming, norming, performing, and adjourning model. Watch this video to learn more about the Tuckman model of group development.
Tuckman indicated that all of these stages are necessary for a team to grow and find solutions to ever-present challenges.
Focus your discussion on the following:
Summarize the differences between each of the working generations.
Summarize each of the 5 stages of Tuckman’s model.
What are a manager’s challenges, problems, and issues that must be anticipated or addressed during each stage of group development for the interaction of the various generations?
How can a leader use their power and influence to support the successful development and productivity of a multigenerational team?
