The first comment should: 1) identify the film preferably by title 2) answer all parts of the exact question asked 3) back up your main points(s) with evidence, logic or example to show/ try to prove how your point is true (from the film, your own experience, and/or outside reading etc. 4) include some material from the film (preferably in your back up). Be organized avoiding tangents and if tangent do so briefly and at the end of the comment.
The reader of your comment should always be clear on which are your ideas/ information versus what are those from the film or article. Thus, use wording that makes your voice distinct (e.g. I would argue that ____. In my opinion …According the film ____. I disagree with the film’s point that…). Most of your comment should be in your own words rather than quotes or extensive film or article summary. If you use outside sources (which are not needed) paraphrase or quote and cite the source by author or website and date. Plagiarism can result in deductions or no credit if comment is entirely plagiarized.
